Positions
Traffic Count (Field) Technician - Part Time (Starting $22.00/hr) Spring 2024
Field Technician duties involve aspects of our field operations, including portable automated vehicle data collection, manual vehicle counts, permanent count station installation and maintenance, and traffic control/flagging.
The Field Technician’s primary activity is automated vehicle data collection, which involves setup of road surface and roadside temporary traffic monitoring equipment. Generally, this is road tube sensors, which are secured to the road surface with masonry nails/clamps and mastic tape, and counter boxes or video recording systems, which are setup on the roadside and secured to an existing feature, such as a sign post, guard rail or telephone pole. Training (on the job) includes instruction on safety, traffic monitoring principles, operation and installation of monitoring equipment, and computer software used for data reporting (Equipment manufactures’ proprietary software and Microsoft Excel).
We are currently performing on statewide data collection contracts in Maryland.
Requirements: Clean driving record, AVAILABILITY FOR DAY OR NIGHT SHIFT work (which is contract assignment dependent) as necessary, and familiarity with Microsoft Windows basic principles (mouse use and opening/closing programs, etc.).
Flagger - Part Time/Temporary (As Needed) - None Currently -
RDS is seeking ATSSA certified flaggers for supplemental traffic control support on existing contracts with an undetermined number of flagging tasks assignments. Part-time flaggers will supplement RDS crews on an as needed basis.
Data Specialist/Processor - Full Time - None Currently -
